Week11-1/ The cause of War/ ji eun Bang

1.Summary

No one knows when and where War will take place.
-Psychological theory: human nature is inherently violent
-Anthropology theory: Scholar believes that war broke out because human society was not reformed.
-Sociological theory: war uses detailed formulas that take into account hundreds of demographic and economic values to predict when and where war will take place.
-Information theory: The theory argues that all wars are based on a lack of information. If both sides knew from the start that the outcome would be to fight either way, the loser would simply give up the cost of the lives and infrastructure that war would bring. Lack of information can determine who wins right away.
-Economic theory: Wars strengthen the power of the ruling class and confront each other for artificial ideals such as nationalism and religion. And it is a natural derivative of free markets and class systems and will not disappear until the world revolution occurs.

2.What did you learn?/ interesting

I was interesting that it is difficult to find a general explanation of the war as it is like a car accident.
So there are different perspectives on why there is a war. None of the database-based formulas in sociological theories have been successful in predicting future conflicts.I think this is because every scholar has a different focus on studying data and the war is not sure when and where

I think war is caused by the pursuit of national interests and wealth. Which of the various theories do you think is the reason for the war?
