Why is God expressed as a man?

I think it is a product of male chauvinism in the past. There is still a constant debate on human rights in men and women today. This is a debate to break down the conventional sense of entitlement and examples of men. In the past, there was no human rights in women, so the right to vote was unimaginable. For too long men have been thought to be superior and that still remains the case.
