Demography is a study of population dynamics. It includes research on the size, structure, and distribution of the population and how the population changes over time due to birth, death, migration, and aging. A demographic analysis may relate to a whole society or to a small group of people defined by criteria such as education, religion, or ethnicity. Demography relies on large data sets that are primarily derived from censuses and registration statistics (i.e., birth, death, marriage registrations) It's still difficult to get reliable demographics in many countries, especially in the developing world. In some areas, the link between census and taxes can be caused.

It has been newly discovered that the purpose of studying demographics is to explain social phenomena. In addition, some early mathematicians used tables of life expectancy for the development of primitive forms of development life insurance for actuarial purposes. It was interesting that the census, another demographic tool, was designed primarily for political purposes.
