Week 14 / Demography/김권수 Kim Kwonsoo

Sumary: Demographics is the study of human population dynamics.Census analysis can be related to small groups defined by criteria such as overall society or education, religion or ethnicity.
Before proposing a complex theory to explain social phenomena, sociologists should first turn to demographic indicators for possible explanations. Demographic indicators often help explain world events and must first be switched to explanations.

Interacting point: A young man said, "If you want to reduce the birth rate... You have to give women the opportunity to get an education and get a job."

Discussion: What should we do to solve the problem of low birth and aging?

  1. I think it takes support from the country to solve the problem of low birth. Children and parents should be given enough time to be together. In addition, job creation is needed to solve the aging problem. I also think that welfare is necessary.

  2. I also think our welfare policy is the most problematic. It costs a lot of money to raise a child. However, the welfare for the birth of children in our country is not good, so I am not going to give birth much these days. Women are also more reluctant to take paternity leave because they do not have a proper policy. Society must change to solve this problem.
