"Is our modern world more peaceful than the past? can we think of some examples - or contradictions?"

I don't know if the modern world is more peaceful than the past. Of course I may think so because events that I may not have known in the past are known through the media. However, even in our equality society, there is still an economic class, which leads to more discrimination and incidents than slavery did.
