A. I think modern society is more peaceful than in the past. A crucial example is that increased empathy has led to rejection of killing people. In the past, many people died and killed each other because they had to wage war, and the punishment in the past was more cruel than it is today. But now with the decrease in war, there is a growing reluctance to kill people, and even with the death penalty, it is considered that the person will die less painfully. In the past, animals did not have feelings, but now animals have feelings, so there are stories about the animal rights. These examples are now more peaceful than in the past.
