Q. Korea is aging - what can the government do about that?

A. What the government can do is create a good environment for giving birth. The increasing number of elderly people is related to medical developments. Advances in medicine have allowed people to live long. On the other hand, however, the birthrate is steadily decreasing. This is because the spread of perceptions and hardships that people consider their lives more important are increasing the number of people who don't want to have children. The only thing the government can do to prevent this is to create an environment conducive to childbirth. There are currently various policies to promote childbirth, but the overall living environment does not improve much by simply giving money. Therefore, we should not look at it this narrow and make life better for society as a whole.
