I think one of the real action that our society can do is applying Affirmative action. Basically, affirmative action is a discriminatory policy, although it is considered to be a positive genre of discrimination because it is only temporary in nature to open opportunities for certain groups of people to seize the same opportunities as other groups have enjoyed. One example of affirmative action in the effort to achieve gender equality is for example setting a certain quota for women in government positions.
