The demand for jobs for senior citizens in Korea stands at 1,195,000, but
only half a million are employed by senior citizens. That is, an old man cannot
work even if he wants to, and that is why he cannot earn money. Even though
Korea is an aged society with more than 14 percent of the elderly, it has no
jobs for young people, and there is no job for old people. Even if they do not
work because they are not part of the basic life supply, they will only receive
money from their children and spend it. I think this phenomenon has increased
the poverty rate of the elderly.
