Week 12-1 : Collective_Behavior Heo SeonYeong 허선영

Summary:
Collective behavior is distinct from group behavior. Collective behavior includes limited and short-term social interactions, and groups stay together a little longer. There are also no clear social boundaries for collective action. Group members are usually more sensible. Lastly, Collective behavior tends to produce weak and pessimistic norms, and groups tend to have stronger and more general norms. We study collective behavior to change real social factors. Collective behavior studies can also help avoid tragedy. The crowd can be divided into four categories. Casuals are people without real interaction. Conventional cases are intentionally planned meetings. "expressive" refers to people who are gathered in emotionally charged events. "Acting" refers to people who are intending to achieve something. Collective behavior can occur among people who are distant and dispersed. According to the theory of infection, the crowd exerts a hypnotic influence on their members. It is literally spreading out. According to the convergence theory, the crowd is the result of people of the same mind. According to the theory of convergence, what one cannot do alone can do in the crowd. The Emergen-Norm theory combines both infectious and convergent theories. People of the same opinion get together to lead to mass action. Panic is a group of actions that occur in a disaster situation. This could jeopardize the overall health of the group. Moral panic is based on the perception that groups pose a threat to society. Riots are the hallmarks of a disorderly group of criminals such as sudden and violent violence. A hysteria is a diagnostic level that applies to one of the intractable fears or emotional excesses. Those who correspond to hysteria often lose control because of overwhelming fear. A rumor is generally an unconfirmed statement. This will move to the buzzer and communicate the information. It also expresses and satisfies the emotional needs of the community. These rumors may contain hopes, hopes, fears, or hurt people.

What was interesting/What did we learn:
The theory of the crowd was interesting. In particular, according to the theory of convergence, people perform actions in a crowd that they cannot achieve alone with an anonymous mask. This is likely to be bad behavior in that it is anonymous. But I look forward to playing a positive role for some timid people.

Discussion point:
It was interesting to classify the crowd into four categories. Among them, people who gather to watch baseball or soccer games can be expressive and those who go on stage during or after a concert are called action. I was confused by the concept of working here. How did you reorganize the action? Are the people gathered to watch the concert express? What other examples of action are there?
