Week 12-2 : Social_Movements Heo SeonYeong 허선영

Summary:

Social movements need to be formally organized. Social movements and social exercise equipment are distinct. Social movements are a component of formal organized social movements, whereas social exercise organizations can form part of them. Social movements are divided into whether trying to change is all or a special individual. It also distinguishes between limited defense and fundamental change. These social movements change like photography.

Social movement theories include deprivation theory, mass social theory, and structural transformation theory. The theory of deprivation is that the deprived cause social movements. It is likely that individuals who are deficient will organize social movements to improve their condition. Mass social theory is that people exercise to gain a sense of social belonging. Structural modification theory can be explained by six factors. People can do social movements because they think there is a problem in society, experience deficiency, and do social movements. This lack seems similar to deprivation theory. There are many other factors. According to the theory of mobilization, capital is also important for successful social movements. Political process theory states that resistance, organization and political opportunity are three important things in social movements. Organizational power needs leadership and resources, so it can be similar to resource mobilization theory. There is also a cultural theory.

What was interesting/What did we learn:
I found social movement theories interesting. We've seen a lot of social movements to talk about and get what we lack. Demonstrations in front of the City Hall are likely to correspond to this theory of deprivation.

Discussion point:
An example of the difference between a social movement and a social exercise instrument is the PETA social movement and a vegetarian social movement. People for the ethical treatment of animals support vegetarianism, but there are more groups that support vegetarianism. Have you ever thought more about the social sports organizations that make up a part of this social movement?
