Culture/week 3/Yerim Han/한예림

1)summary
Culture is the difference between nature and nurture. Because of our biology and genetics, we have a special form and some ability. But our biological nature doesn't just determine who we are. It takes culture. Culture is a non-biological or social aspect of human life. Basically, all humans are part of culture.
By the way, 19th culture is important.
This new view also removed the evaluation elements of cultural concepts and instead proposed distinction rather than rank among other cultures. It is an artificial classification of elements of social life.
There are also things called ethnocentrism and culture relativism.
Cultural relativism is the belief that the concepts and values of a culture cannot be fully translated into, or fully understood in, other languages; that a specific cultural artifact (e.g. a ritual) h


2)What was interesting/what did you learn 
This article refers to cultural differences and tells the difference in perception between the U.S. and India about 'so.' In fact, this is an example of a cultural difference that has been very much heard in the past. Sociologists are Each culture has an interpretation of what a cow means. In the U.S., we often see cows as eating them in their daily lives, but in India, many people regard cows as awe-inspiring in their spiritual lives. However, culture is most interesting in that it is not static and vulnerable to change. With recent globalization coming, there is evidence that India is moving toward increasing consumption of beef and beef products. I was surprised to think that there would be no beef consumption in India, of course, as there is a dramatic change in the perception and treatment of cattle caused by globalization.

Can animals' interactions be recognized as cultures?
