Summary
Culture includes objects and
symbols, meanings given to them and symbols, norms, values, and beliefs that
are prevalent in social life.
The concept of culture has begun to change in a
different way from the original, which has led to the distinction between a
more inclusive but civilized culture and a primitive culture or a tribal
culture.
This new view proposes discrimination between different cultures.
There is also nationalism and cultural relativism in view of these cultures.
Sociologist Grie Songd suggests that culture changes through dependent and
social behavior.
Therefore, society and culture can coexist because humans are
linked to and from social relationships (e.g., brothers, lovers, and friends). This
can give different meanings to the same subject or symbol depending on the
current culture.

What was interesting/What did you learn
It was impressive that anthropologists were careful
about using biological evolution (racialist formality) to explain differences
between certain cultures. They said that even if humans are not biologically
related, they can learn to act from beliefs, values, or other things. Also,
many examples of cultural changes resulting from contact with the environment,
inventions and other cultures were impressive.

Discussion Point
Culture is different. You should have a receptive
attitude toward the culture you are experiencing and other cultures you are
experiencing. But should we even accept extreme culture?
I don't think that extreme culture should be accepted. I wonder if we should embrace a violent or sexist culture. Cultural relativism is of course necessary for cultural development. But if this is extreme, isn't there room for tragedy that leaves some inhumane areas ill?
