Stratification / Week 9 / 김권수 Kim Kwonsoo

Summary: This chapter tells the story of economic stratification and economic inequality. Even rich countries like the United States have poorer quality of life than developing countries. Sociology studies this and teaches various inequalities. We also see how important capitalism is in its inequality.

Interesting point: The wealth of the world is concentrated on certain parts of the world and poverty is everywhere in any country.

Discussion: Can certain parts of wealth be called irrational in a capitalist society?

1 comment:

  1. I think the process of distributing wealth is unreasonable.
Rich people (builders) get money when they're still. But ordinary office workers don't earn as much money as rich people do. Also, it's hard to be a stable office worker.
So I think the better the process of dividing wealth, the better it will be for society.
