Week10 : Gender Heo SeonYeong 허 선영

1.summary

Cis sex is a person who follows the existing concept of sex in the social, historical, cultural, political and scientific context. However, transsex does not follow the existing concept of sex in the above mentioned context. I will continue to work hard to be a woman who was born as a man but wants to be a woman. Sex is usually a classification based on the physical characteristics of the person being born with. A gender is a classification based on one's behavior and social consciousness. I don't think it's right to do this, but it has traditionally been classified as feminine and masculine. Female traits include obedience, emotionality, and timidity, and male traits include superiority, rationality, and bravery. Gender is always fluid and can change. The biological difference between women and men is still unknown. However, men tend to have a stronger upper body than women and women tend to live longer than men. Men also enter puberty two years later than women. Women are more vulnerable to depression and anxiety disorder than men. In addition, there is always a difference in education performance between women and men and jobs and their wages.

2.interesting point

It was very interesting to hear the word Cis sex for the first time. I think it was good to feel respect for transsex. I hope there will be a society where people who are born and suffering from a gender they don't want are more respected. It was also interesting that women lived longer than men.

3.discussion point

One of my friends is told that people who meet for the first time are very masculine in name. What do you think is the difference between a masculine name and a feminine name? Is your name masculine or feminine?

  1. When I talk about macho and femininity, I think that usually male is strong and feminine is expressed as weak. This is a stereotype of society, and I think we should get out of it. It's better to say that you're just yourself, not macho or feminine.
