"Why as people get richer, they become less religious?"
I think it's good to have a religion, but I don't know exactly. Only, I think people who usually need a place to lean on believe in religion. Different people may be different, but usually the rich already have a lot, so they don't need a place to lean on anymore. Perhaps successful individuals may regard themselves as greatest as God. They may also dislike the time and money they are investing in religious activities.
