1. Summary
Deviation is an act that violates cultural norms. Deviation is often divided into two types of deviant activity. First, crime is a violation of the officially enacted law. Examples of formal deviation include robbery, theft, rape, murder, assault, etc. The second type of deviant behavior refers to violations of informal social norms, rules that are not legally codified. Examples of unofficial deviations include snoring and burping loudly.
There are four main theories that explain deviance, which can be explained in Social-Strain Typology, Structural-Functionalism, Conflicting Theory, and Labeling Theatre.
In addition to these theories, deviance is associated with a variety of factors, including gender, race, and murder, and is possible to explain.

2. What was interesting/what did you learn
Among the theories that explained deviance, stigmatism was the most interesting. Because I think it is a theory that I learned in high school class, and why I commit human deviant behavior well.
The main issue of stigma theory is that the official stigma attached as a result of criminal behavior caused by a variety of causes and influences isolates the actor from conventional society and opportunities. It is also believed that the restriction of such legitimate opportunities would in contrast increase illegal opportunities, which in turn lead to continued criminal activity. However, because the stigma theory focuses on secondary deviance, it tends to belittle primary deviance and deviance of strong people, what about the increase and decrease of deviance, etc.

3. Discussion point
There are some school sanctions against students' deviation, but what about adult deviation?

  1. If a deviation is considered a crime, I think that the punishment for the deviation is to pay such a fine or to buy a prison sentence. But since crime is not necessarily deviant behavior, other deviant acts should be thought about.

    1. agree to your opinion.
But I think most crimes begin with deviant behavior. So I think we need to prevent deviant behavior in advance in order to reduce crime.
