"Why is God Christianity often portrayed as a male?"
The actual Bible does not show the sex of God. But usually God is expressed as a man. I also agree that God is represented as a man because men were superior to women of that time. I have also been told that God can be portrayed as a man because he created a man. Just as men have sperm, God sows seeds to create people in the world.
