Extra posting / What are the manifest and latent (dys)functions of going to school? / week5 / Kwon Ah Yeon

Q: What are the manifest and latent (dys)functions of going to school?

A: The manifest function of going to school is that you can learn. Because the school's primary function is in educational activities. On the contrary, the manifest dysfunction of going to school are such things as academic stress and excessive private education costs to prepare for tests.
I think the latent function is to improve social activities. By attending school, I make friends and do social activities, which are just as important as educational activities. I think school violence is a prime example of latent dysfunction.
