Extra points/ Is modern democracy really “the will of the people “

Modern democracy is not true democracy. Modern democracy mainly refers to political democracy. Its basic connotation generally includes the following four aspects: First, democracy requires citizens to give the right to speak, to know, to vote, to supervise and to remove, while guaranteeing the freedom and equality of these basic rights. Second, democracy generally implements the principle of minority obeying the majority, while requiring the majority to respect and protect the will of the minority. Democracy requires the minority to obey the majority. For the minority, this is not the result they want, so it is not true democracy for them. Third, the form of realization of democracy can be divided into direct democracy and indirect democracy. Direct democracy is the direct decision or management of social public affairs by all citizens. But in reality, it is impossible for any public affairs to be referendum by all citizens. Fourth, in modern society, democracy and the legal system are inseparable. The implementation of democracy must be accompanied by the construction of the legal system.
