Extra posting - 11.12 / sukyung Song

Why? What did Twain by that?

I think it means that people's stereotypes are more important than the laws that are set by the state. Of course, laws are made from people's minds, but they can be changed by revision. But people's thoughts are hard to change. It has been fixed for a long time and I think it cannot be changed easily. For example, the law of adultery in Korea has disappeared, but married couples are highly prejudiced about dating other people. This is because the law has changed, but people's perception has not changed.

Why inequality creates disorder?

In a capitalist society, inequality is indispensable. Therefore, it is natural to be divided into good and bad. However, there is no choice but to be discriminated against in society between those who have and those who do not. In this respect, I think that inequality causes social disability.

Why do you think South Korea places so high on this ranking?

Sixty to 72 percent of South Korea's suicides and 80 percent of those who killed themselves were mentally ill, and 80 to 90 percent of them are said to suffer from depression. The reason why Koreans suffer from depression is because society is sick. Korea causes competition through social structure. As the word "in Seoul" implies, I stick to my grades to get to a better university. Even in universities, people waste their lives building a spec to get a better job. Koreans work hard for the future, but they don't spend time on their own work. I think that's the result of this.

How can we reduce the suicide rates in Korea?

I think the reason why Korea's suicide rate is high is because of social structural problems. Therefore, Korean society should recognize this problem and prepare a system to prevent or reduce it. You have to have a systematic education about the dignity of life. Also, media companies that make overly suggestive stories about celebrity suicides need self-control.
