Race_and_Ethnicity / week10 /Juhee Cha

1. Summary
Since the early days of the United States, racial classifications have been varied and various groups, such as Native Americans, African Americans, and European Americans, were classified as belonging to different tribes.Racism is seen by many as an insult to basic human dignity and human rights violations. through an unequal drive between racism can be expressed individually and consciously through social or unconscious explicit thoughts, feelings, or actions. Racism can also fight against a large group. The assimilation of minorities into large groups can be seen as a form of racism.

2. Interesting point
It was interesting that there were many different types of racial discrimination. Because I thought there was discrimination because of personal consciousness.
There are individual, structural, cultural, and historical, etc.
I was curious about the difference between structure and cultural discrimination, but the study of structural racism showed. That is the graph below. This is an example of discrimination that has been rooted in unconsciousness.

3. Discussion point
The reason for racial discrimination is also the discrimination related to historical events. Do you think there is a way to solve racism from unforgettable historical events? If so, what would it be?
