1. Summary
Ethnicity is a collection of characteristics that allow a particular classification of population, and race is a biological factor that makes an apparent difference. Ethnic or ethnicity is not biologically discriminated against, but it is socially discriminated against. Nationalism has ethnic nationalism and civic nationalism.
2. What was interesting/what did you learn
I have come to know the difference between nationalism and ethnic Nationalism. Generally, in Korean, 'nationalism' means 'ethnic nationalism', in which both 'ethnic nationalism' and 'nationalism' are translated 'nationalism'. In other words, in Korean, it is easy to confuse nationalism and ethnic nationalism which is branch of nationalism.
3. Discussion point
Due to crimes committed by ethnic Koreans over the past few years, the perception of ethnic Koreans in Korea is not very good. Do you think it is right or wrong for the entire nation to get bad attention for some of the problems raised?
