Deviation / 7 week / Kang SeoJong (강서종)

1.summary

Deviation is an act that violates cultural norms. This norm is the expectation of society to guide human behavior. Deviation is divided into two types of biased activities. One is an official deviation from the crime. This is a violation of a law that is formally enacted. Another example of unofficial social norms violations, unofficial deviant behavior, unwritten norms, is snoring or screaming.
Structuralism argues that abnormal behavior plays an important role in society, first of all, deviation helps distinguish acceptable and unacceptable behavior. In this sense, deviance serves as a boundary between what people can and cannot do.

2. interesting

The story of the high crime scene was interesting. It has been said that crime is a result of low income and high turnover of housing. Crimes and negative attributes also reinforce each other. In short, if you are living in a bad economic situation, there are more deviant crimes. In our society, the economically weak and the socially vulnerable become criminals. So there is a sad situation where his difficult life becomes difficult continuously. I hope that the welfare of the nation's social underdogs will be improved further.

3.Discussion

I agree with the labeling theory. If you brand a person and treat him or her with that brand, you will have to. What do other people think about the brand theory?

1 comment:

  1. I agree with the labeling theory. It is difficult not to do what is expected of the brand after it is branded. Therefore, we must be careful when labeling like this. It is because we do not know whether it will work positively or negatively towards others.
