My religion, Chatolic, bealive that god has no gender, but in our bible and pictures god refer as a "he"   and male individual. It kind a the same with race, God doesnt has a race, he can be black or white. I think in order to see the reason is we have to look at the origin or where it came from. Christianity is originated from roman region where most of the people then bealive that element of strenght, protection and other God's characteristic as a male's characteristic. That's why the christian tend to potrayed Gor in a masculine way
