1. Summary:
Sociology has emerged as the mobility of technology increases. As people became more active, they were exposed to other cultures and felt different from their own. Sociology has developed as a result of integrating these conflicts. In other words, sociology has evolved according to social changes such as the Industrial Revolution, not the flow of time.
Sociology was first studied following empiricism just like natural science, but advanced sociology critically analyzes the experience. It also collects data from the real world and evaluates theories based on data in sociological imagination.
2. What was interesting/what did you learn:
I found it interesting that the word sociology was created from the Latin word "socius" which means companionship and the Greek word "logia," which means research. The word seems to have been coined in the field of sociology in the study of other people's cultures and for their inclusion. Also, the term "armchair society" itself was new and felt cute. Also, the words that were unfamiliar to me were micro-social studies and macro-social studies, and I thought I wanted to know more about them.
3 .Discussion point:
We are curious to know that examples such as social relationships, social stratification, and social interaction can be approached through both qualitative and quantitative research methods.
I think it's very close to the social interaction, the classes we hear, the school life.
