Politics / Week 5 / 배찬형 Bae Chanhyeong

1.Summary

The act of gathering social or economic opinions from a group is called politics. There is politics in everyone's interactions.
There are many types of government that conduct politics. They are monarchy, democracy, totalitarianism, oligarchy, communism, and Theocracy. All these politics have representatives. However, the size of power of the president is different. And the government's representative has different political styles.
Politics is linked to many parts. Gender, age, race, and so on. Women tend to have a low political position when it comes to gender. And for age, political participation varies depending on the condition that older people show a higher voter turnout.

2.What was interesting / What did you learn

I thought it was interesting in relation to politics and age.
Until now, we thought that younger people would have higher voter turnout, but we were a little surprised by the opposite result. And the old man felt that voting was a small but big right to express his opinion in that he had relatively much power. And I think we need to learn a lot about politics from an early age in order to raise the voting rate.

3. Discussion Point

The advantage of a multi-party system is that it is easy to adjust to the conflict between political parties and to reflect various opinions of the people. But I think the advantages of a multi-party system are meaningless as the nation's two major parties have most of the approval rating. What should we do to reap the benefits of the multi-party system?
