Week5/Politics/Zhang Peiyao

1. Summary
Politics, which refers to the behavior of social governance, also refers to the behavior of maintaining rule. Politics is a process of collective decision-making by various groups, especially the rule of a political entity, such as ruling a country, and the supervision and regulation of a domestic and foreign affairs. Politics is a social force that affects the interests of all members of society and governs their behavior. The term is often used to refer to the act of governing a country, such as a government or political party.Politics is a very important social phenomenon in human society, which affects all aspects of human life. This social phenomenon is very complex, so different scholars have different views on him in different historical periods, different cultures, different languages and from different disciplines. Moreover, the political connotation itself is constantly changing, so the interpretation of politics is full of controversy, and there is still no precise and accepted definition.
2.  What was interesting/what did you learn
As for the communist countries, I don't think there are any communist countries in the whole world. Usually the highest goal is to build a communist country. "The primary stage of socialism" is a unique term. So they often call themselves socialist countries rather than communist countries. However, in the socialist theory, the national social configuration of this period is defined as socialist and communist society, so it is considered that socialism is the former stage of communism. The hallmark of a socialist country is public ownership, but not necessarily public ownership. In theory, it is governed by a communist party that represents the interests of the greatest number of people. It is often a one-party system, and some communists argue that it is not what the west calls a "one-party system". In addition, countries with the word "socialism" are not necessarily socialist countries, and countries without the word "socialism" are not necessarily socialist countries. The communist party came to power mainly in socialist countries such as the Soviet union and China and seized power through revolution. Some socialist countries in eastern Europe or Asia, influenced or assisted by the Soviet union or the Chinese revolution, also seized power and took the socialist road. After the establishment of the communist countries, most of them joined the eastern bloc, and some of them withdrew due to disputes with the Soviet union.
3. Discussion Point
We can learn from the article that political power is not limited to the head of state, that is to say, ordinary citizens also have political rights. So what do you think it means for citizens to exercise their political rights? Tell me what you think.
